Lesson Programs

Our skilled instructors have the expertise to teach students of any level, from beginners to Grand Prix-level riders. Rates for each instructor can be found on the Instructor page.

Schedule

Our riding lessons are available 7 das a week by appointment only.

Duration

Private Lesson – 1/2 Hour
Semi-Private Lesson – 45 Minutes
Group Lesson
(Three or More Students) – 1 Hour

Payment

The fee for your class must be paid before or on the day of the lesson. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (inclusive of a 3% convenience fee). Gift certificates are also available.

Cancellation

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations made after this period will be billed.

Enter the fascinating world of horses by joining our summer program. We are excited for you to join our staff as well as our horses and ponies.

Topics Covered

Beginners will learn the fundamentals of horse care as well as the basics of English riding. Intermediate and advanced riders will learn the skills they need to further their riding education.

Proper Attire

Every student must wear the following:

T-Shirt With Some Type of Sleeve
Close-Fitting Pants (Jeans or Riding Breeches, if Possible)
Hard-Soled Shoes With a 1/2 – 1-Inch Heel (Sneakers Are Not Permitted)
Well-Fitting Hunt Cap (Safety Helmets Approved by ASTM International Are Available for Use)

Beginner/Intermediate Riding Experience

Cost: $300
Time: 8:30AM – 12:30PM

Riders are grouped according to ability, and we only accommodate 12 individuals per week. Since each session is limited, early sign-ups are encouraged.

Riders will spend the early hours in the saddle learning about the hunt seat equitation. After the hands-on lessons, light snacks will be provided. The remaining time will be spent on unmounted instruction.

We have two large indoor arenas so the weather presents no problem.

Advanced Week

Cost: $425
Time: 8:30AM – 2:00PM (Includes Field Trips)

Please note that advanced riding is for individuals who can walk, trot, canter, and jump small courses. If you do not ride regularly at our facility or with one of our instructors, please contact us before signing up so we can discuss whether you qualify for our advanced program.

This class is a great option for riders who are currently participating or planning to join schooling or rated shows. Riders will learn to become more comfortable with traveling and spending a long time in the saddle.

Students in the Advanced Week program are required to bring their own lunch.

Registration

Please complete the registration form and send it to the address below with a $25 nonrefundable deposit. The deposit reserves your spot for the week and is applicable to the fee. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Gift certificates for our riding programs are also available.

Pony Birthday Parties

Mystic Valley Hunt Club Inc. is the perfect place for your child’s next birthday. If you want to host an indoor celebration, you can take advantage of a large heated lounge or viewing area with a direct view of the riding arena. We also provide long tables, chairs, and couches to accommodate all your guests.

You may also choose to have your party in a large outdoor gazebo with a view of our various riding arenas. Benches and tables will be provided.

Party Inclusions

All parties come with the following:

Various School Horses to Suit Any Child
Riding Helmets in All Sizes to Fit Any Child
Indoor Facilities With Large Sinks
Sizeable Tabletop Space With a Microwave and Small Refrigerator

Other Reminders

Parties can last up to two hours: one hour of ride time and one hour of party time. You are also free to decorate the upstairs lounge or gazebo to match your party’s theme.

Safety Guidelines

Please note that we set some limitations to keep everyone safe in and around the horse environment. Only 5 to 20 riders can be accommodated for each party, and we charge $30 per rider. No riding experience is required, but all riders must be from ages 3 to 16.
